Hair Expo 2014

Backstage in hair and makeup at Hair Expo 2014 held at The Star Event Centre for The Art of Hair show. This year our show had a Hunger Games theme with the models dressed in "Capitol Couture" and my outfit was inspired by a butterfly. I wore a wire cage dress adorned with paper butterflies and a hair piece complete with butterfly wings and Swarovski crystals!

Hair Expo 2013

It's that time of year again...it's Hair Expo time! This year I appeared once again in The Art of Hair show choreographed by the fabulous Sally Clark for the Sunday night Generation Next Gala Show.
I arrived at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre in Darling Harbour for a quick midday technical rehearsal on the huge stage, then it was in to hair and makeup for the next few hours!
This years show had an Alice in Wonderland theme but with a bit of a twist and I was asked to play the White Queen! My face and body was painted white with silver shimmer dust, I had black and white eyeshadow with the longest lashes I have ever seen adorned with tiny Swarovski crystals and red lips covered in red glitter. I wore a white corset dress and an amazing headpiece made out of black and white hair decorated with silver glitter and crystals. The wig was so tall it was quite heavy but it looked great and the show went fantastically well!!

Doll House by The Art of Hair

It's the June long weekend which means it's that time of year again. It's Hair Expo time! This year I appeared in The Art of Hair by Letitia Booth's show "Doll House" choreographed by Sally Clark.
We arrived at the Sydney Exhibition Centre for the Generation Next show in the morning for a tech rehearsal, then it was in to hair and makeup for the next 5 hours! We were made up to look like colourful dolls, I wore a baby blue tutu style dress decorated with silver chains and safety pins, with bright green fishnet stockings, frilly white gloves and matching blue mary jane shoes. My wig was a blonde and pale pink giant triangle on top of my head with a long pink braid. Everyone looked fantastic and the show was lots of fun!

Burlesque show for Keune event

Last weekend I performed my burlesque inspired contortion show at the Keune event held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton hotel in Sydney. It was a super early morning start for me on a very cold and rainy Sunday. I arrived and went in to hair and makeup, workshopped the costumes backstage with the help of my amazing choreographer Ame Delves who helped me put the show together, had a quick rehearsal on stage, did the lighting checks and then it was show time!
I wore a custom made swarovski encrusted top, the Wheels and Dollbaby Oh La La knickers with fringe detail on the bottom and Peeptoe jewellry. My beautiful dancers Stacey and Priya wore a mix of Wheels and Dollbaby and Alannah Hill frilled and fringed knickers and bustiers.
Below is a little behind the scenes video and a sneak peek of the performance...stay tuned for the posting of the whole show which is coming soon!

Lores Giglio Fudge Hair Expo Show

Yesterday was a huge day for me at Hair Expo. Three shows in one day! Early call times on a Sunday should be illegal. My last show for the day was the Lores Giglio for Fudge hair show at the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre, which was part of the Generation Next Hair Expo show.
When I arrived it was all systems go! I had seven people working on me at once prepping my hair, doing makeup and doing my finger nails and toe nails!
My hair was first crimped, then had huge hair pieces attached to my head, then my real hair wrapped around it, sprayed black and then had blue, green and purple hair pieces pinned around sections.
I was styled in a fabulous Romance Was Born black and gold body suit and long skirt, lace leggings and sequin covered rainbow shoes.
The show was great and all the hair creations looked amazing!

Yes. That is my real hair. Crimped within an inch of it's life!

Hair Expo 2010

Hair Expo Australia has come and gone for another year, held over the June long weekend at the Sydney exhibition centre in Darling Harbour.
This year I worked for Sharon Blain's The Art of Hair as a lingerie clad femme fatale in an Agent Provocateur inspired show. The show began with a man dressed in trench coat and hat standing under a street lamp while I circled him in silhouette before I strangled him with the belt of my coat! Very fun role to play! My team of sexy assassins then appeared and we performed a routine choreographed by the lovely Sally Clark to the track Confide in Me wearing various forms of pink lingerie, see-through plastic coats and jewels. The hair was amazing, some girls had huge bows made of hair and others had large rolls almost like tubes twisted around. It took a lot of pins, braids, hairspray, gel and sewing to keep it all in place!

I also performed at the Schwarzkopf show which was held on the final night of Hair Expo at the gala awards evening. There were many sections to the show from military, cyber sport, new rebel, punk princess and boudoir. I was in the cyber sport section and we wore dresses made out of coloured wetsuit material with Schwarzkopf graphic leggings and armbands, acrylic jewellery, orange elastic heels and had bright blue or green eyes with bright orange nail polish.

Blogging about this years Hair Expo got me thinking and I can't find a blog about previous years shows, so I thought I'd post a few images from past Hair Expo shows...I wasn't able to find a photo from all the shows I've done but here are a few I could find...
