Just received some exciting news. My feature film Fragment has been announced to be the closing film for the Australian Film Festival! Fragment will be screening at Hoyts cinema, Fox Studios Entertainment Quarter on March 8th at 7pm! I'm excited to finally see the film, I missed the first screening due to being overseas working at the time, so I'm the only cast member to not have seen it yet!! I will also be doing a Q&A with the audience after the screening! Tickets to see Fragment at the Australian Film Festival can be purchased online from moshtix.
Renowned website Dance.com posted a wonderful review of myself and the Crystal Boudoir show this past weekend and writes "She is just so incredible. Donning a rhinestoned velvet cat suit, like something our Lady Gaga might appear in, Bree is a human pretzel! I have seen contortionists before however this young lady exudes elegance and control like no other." To read the full review please follow the link here.
Today was the launch of the Elle Macpherson Intimates new luxury lingerie line Obsidian at the Myer city store in Sydney.
It was a little weird frolicking around in lingerie in a shopping centre ALL day but I was surprised that I wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought I would be!
Best part was that they let us keep all the lingerie! Score!
Here is the video of the lingerie launch featuring my Crystal Boudoir buddies Ame Delves and Sarah Jane Coombe and also another lovely friend Melissa Ambrosini.
Flew to Perth yesterday to perform at the Australia China Business Council dinner at the Burswood casino. Was a good event with some great entertainers including Joel Salom and Raymond Crowe.
Once I arrived I checked in to my hotel room and chilled out for a while watching The City on MTV and ordering room service until my tech run through on the stage in the afternoon.
The show went well but as soon as I got off stage I had to go straight back to the airport to board my flight back to Sydney as I had to work the following day. I thought getting the red eye would be empty and I'd be able to stretch out and sleep....but no. It was completely full and I didn't sleep a wink! I landed this morning at 7am and had to go straight to my next show. Been awake 26 hours and counting...
My current nail colour obsession. Blue. Looks great on stage with my bright blue sparkly earrings. Will be rocking this colour at my gig in Perth tomorrow!
Arriving backstage at the Crystal Boudoir show. I wore my favourite Bettina Liano pants, Sportsgirl singlet, sequin vest, Peeptoe shoes, rings and wristband and my new Marc Jacobs handbag.
Excited to announce I'll be shooting the campaign for hot new accessories label Metallic Dreamer! Designer Tanya Arlidge has some really amazing pieces and I'm really excited to be involved in her first campaign!
Night out with my girlfriends at Hugo's in Kings Cross. One of my best friends Kiersten Chaves was performing with her new band De'Cu. Super fun night of crazy dancing. I wore an MNG zip up dress, Chanel necklace, Peeptoe shoes and Forever New fingerless gloves.
The Crystal Boudoir show made it's return last night after a break over the holiday period. Yessssssssss. We're back baby! The 2010 show features all original cast members Michael Boyd, Ame Delves, Sarah Jane Coombe, Miss Min and myself! This will be the third year our show has been running and we're still going strong!
Just wrapped filming a TV commercial for Asian Paints which will air early next year in India, Sri Lanka and a few other countries. We shot the commercial at the stunning Strickland House in Vaucluse where the film Australia was also filmed. Strickland House has the most amazing views of the Sydney skyline and harbour, it's such a great place to call your office for the day! One of my scenes was me as a magicians assistant showing the audience inside a mansion, lighting up the room with a flare...and I actually used a real flare! I wasn't nervous until they brought in medics on standby, had fire extinguishers, buckets of water and face masks, then I was a little scared I might set the house on fire or my hair!! I started thinking I might have a Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial moment! Eek. On the third take ash fell from the flare right in my eye! It was pretty painful surprisingly, I couldn't stop my eye from watering and ruined all my makeup. I felt sorry for the poor makeup lady Sarah. Sorry Sarah! She had to re-do my makeup again! Other than that little incident it all went well and I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
My outfit was screaming the 80's!
First scene with the flareThe ash fell in my eye right about now...So much smoke!
Last night I performed at the Children's Cancer Institute Australia masquerade ball at Sydney's Sofitel Wentworth hotel. It was a fabulous event with models dressed up in old fashioned ball gowns and masks, burlesque performers, musicians, living statues, magicians and myself performing contortion.
Spotted last night at the Crystal Boudoir show: radio & television presenter Mike Goldman and Bollywood star Tania Zaetta! Last night was also the last show for 2009 so see you back at the show on January 9th 2010!
This morning I co-hosted with Mike Goldman and Troy Thompson on the Gorilla Radio breakfast show! It was so much fun! The boys were wanting me to do some contortion while we were on air for the studio's web cam, so I said to the listeners that if they sent me tweets on twitter asking me to do it I would...and they did! It was pretty funny. I didn't really dress for the occasion though in my short dress so the crew got a bit of a flash but they didn't seem to mind! Haha.
