Dragon-i 8th anniversary party in Hong Kong

A few days ago I flew to Hong Kong for the 8th anniversary party for Dragon-i nightclub! It was a really fun night and they went all out decorating the venue, it looked fantastic. Verne Troyer aka Mini Me and rapper Coolio were also flown in for the event.
I arrived late Friday night, my driver picked me up from the aiport and I went straight to the hotel, watched a movie and fell asleep. The next day Coolio, myself and the rest of the gang went out for a yummy lunch before we headed to the venue for a sight inspection and sound check. Afterwards Verne, myself and the rest of the guys headed to dinner at Isola restaurant, which had the most beautiful view of the water and the Hong Kong city lights. We ordered the biggest bottle of wine I have ever seen! It was the equivalent of three bottles!

After dinner we headed back to our hotel to have a rest and get ready for the event. We arrived just before midnight and I kicked off the entertainment with my contortion performance in a black and gold swarovski encrusted costume! Afterwards Verne Troyer greeted the audience with a brief introduction before he and Coolio sprayed the audience with bottles of Dom Perignon champagne. Coolio then performed three songs, including my favourite song of his, Gangsta's Paradise! Then it was time to party! We had so much fun and I have to say that Verne Troyer really is the sweetest guy ever! Later in the evening Verne and I were treated to a special magic trick by Asia's premier magician Lawrence Sullivan, who showed us some amazing card illusions and even smoked a Sharpie pen! Video of the magic trick posted below!

Coconut Water

I am totally obsessed with coconut water! I have always loved coconuts but once I discovered the health benefits I was seriously hooked. Full of vitamins, minerals and electrolytes, coconut water is a great drink after exercise to rehydrate and it tastes delicious! Yum.

Mont Blanc Metamorphosis event Beijing

Last week I flew out to Beijing, China for the huge and I mean huuuuge Mont Blanc event celebrating the launch of the Metamorphosis watch. Here's the breakdown of my day to day blog.

Day 1:
I arrived in Beijing after a long flight and almost no sleep. A huge group of us arrived one after another, performers brought in from all over the world and we were taken to our hotel on a big bus. I spent the evening chilling in the hotel room.

Day 2:
We had the morning off so it was time for some sightseeing. We headed to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City! It was amazing and bigger than you could ever imagine! The Forbidden City just kept going and going and going. We walked all the way through and then up the long stairs to the Jingshan Park where I dressed up as an Empress which was fun! The acrobat boys from PopEyed dressed up as Emperors and did some acrobatic moves for the cameras too!

In the afternoon we headed to the venue to check out the stage and have a quick rehearsal. The event was to be held at the 798 art district in Beijing inside a massive old water tank.

Day 3:
In the morning we headed to the markets and had a look around before we headed to the venue for a technical rehearsal and press call. We performed our show for the constant stream of press who came to photograph and film the performers before the big event the following evening.
That night a group of the Australian performers and I had a yummy dinner at a restaurant around the corner from the hotel and ended the night with some bowling! It was lots of fun and I even scored a few strikes!!

Day 4:
Today we went to the Great Wall of China! We were all so excited and it was so amazing! We caught the chair lift up the wall and the toboggan ride down the wall to try and preserve some energy in our legs before the show that night. The toboggan ride was soooo fun!! We went faster than we were probably allowed to but it was awesome. The Great Wall looks steep but it's way steeper than you think it is! I had jelly legs!! It truly was amazing to see.

The Mont Blanc Metamorphosis event was such an amazing event. As guests arrived they walked the red carpet then were ushered in to the Typhoon room where they were entertained by models body painted black with fluro patterns and fluro butterflies which lit up under the special black light, aerialists, pole performers and contemporary dancers dressed in hooded black and white unitards surrounded by mirrors. When the doors finally opened the guests including Nicolas Cage entered the main room where the walls inside the huge water tank were lined with 3D projected graphics which were absolutely incredible, a bar which ran around the entire edge of the wall and various performances by aerialists, acrobats, dancers, the Blue Man Group who were fantastic and myself performing contortion! There were thousands of people there and we partied long in to the night drinking Moet and cocktails!

 Day 5:
Super early wake up this morning to catch my flights back to Sydney. It was a struggle but some good movies on the plane always make long flights feel much faster. I arrived home early Monday morning after a whole day and night of travel and crashed in to bed for the whole day! I was exhausted but my China experience was unbelievable!!

Beauty and the Geek

Last Thursday night the episode I was in of reality show Beauty and the Geek was on! I was hired to pose as a hotel guest at a 5 star resort to trick the geeks in their cabana pool boy challenge! First up mathematics champion Michael had to do anything and everything I asked him to do! I had a script giving me an outline of what to do and say to the geeks but then I could improvise and see where it went. I had to ask Michael to massage my feet, paint my toe nails, brush my hair, smell my perfume and ask him for fashion advice regarding skirt length and the amount of cleavage I should show by which he thought the more the merrier!! Haha!
Once I was done with Michael, I moved on to the pool bar flare bartending challenge where I had astrophysicist Tim make me a cocktail. Tim was doing his attempt at flare bartending when I told him to keep trying to throw the cocktail shaker higher and higher! He threw it so high that it went over my head and smashed on the ground just behind me! I was shocked and Tim went bright red. It was pretty funny. Tim didn't get a very high score from me after that though! He did give it another shot but it didn't taste very good to me!
The geeks were really lovely boys and although it was a freezing cold day on set, it was a fun shoot!

Back to NZ!

Day 1:
It was that time of year again...time to head back to beautiful New Zealand for the summer fashion shows! This time the team and I headed to Christchurch. We've been there so many times now we know our way around the city so well! We landed at the airport, dropped our suitcases off at the hotel and headed straight to the venue for an afternoon of fittings and rehearsals.

Day 2:
We had the morning off so it was time for some retail therapy and some exploring around Christchurch! In the afternoon we headed to the venue for hair and makeup before the VIP night fashion show. I had a little 50's inspired floral swimsuit outfit complete with a white rubber swimming cap covered in flowers...I'm pretty sure I've seen photos of my grandmother in a similar outfit! Haha! After the show my roomies and I ordered room service and watched some movies.

Backstage with Christina Nouri

Day 3:
More shows today followed by DIY mani & pedi's in the hotel room and the yummiest dinner with the Aussie cast members of the show at a little Italian restaurant just a short walk from our hotel. I didn't catch the name of the restaurant but I'm sure we'll be heading back there next time!

Day 4:
Last day of shows today and we definitely did our best shows of the week! So much fun! After the last show we headed straight to the airport, our flight was delayed for a half hour but we were soon on our flight back to Sydney. We landed and I had to rush straight to the Con Pasion and Crystal Boudoir shows suitcases and all! I was so exhausted after two fashion shows, two contortion shows and an international flight I crashed in to bed the second I got home. zzzzzzzz
